These terms are the agreement between you and the operators of Dawgcord ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using this instance you agree to them, to our Privacy Policy and to our Community Guidelines.
1. Who can use Dawgcord
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required where you live if that is higher.
- You must give an accurate date of birth when you sign up. Accounts that turn out to belong to someone under the minimum age are removed.
- One person is responsible for each account. Do not sell, trade or share your account.
2. Your account
Email requirement: You must provide an email address you control when registering, and keep it accurate and accessible. We may use it for account verification, password recovery and important account or security notices. If email verification is enabled, you must complete it to use features that require a verified email address.
Keep your password and login details secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us quickly if you think someone else has access to it.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us permission to store, transmit and display it as needed to run the service, for example showing your message to the people you sent it to.
Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read them, and we cannot recover them if you lose your encryption keys. Only report or share messages you are willing to show us.
4. What you agree not to do
Follow the Community Guidelines. In addition, do not:
- break the law, or use the service to help others break it;
- attack, overload, scrape or probe the service, or try to get around its limits or security;
- create accounts to evade a ban or a limit placed on you;
- pretend to be the operators, staff, the official account or another person.
5. Enforcement and account standing
When we find a violation, we record it on your account and the official account tells you about it in a direct message. Active violations affect your account standing:
- 1 active violation: Limited
- 2 active violations: Very limited
- 3 or more active violations: At risk
- Account disabled: Suspended
Violations stop counting once they expire, or once an appeal removes them. Staff may also set your standing by hand, and we may remove content, restrict features or disable accounts when needed to protect people or the service. Serious violations can lead to a suspension without earlier warnings.
6. Appeals
You can review your violations and appeal ones you think are wrong from the Account Standing page in your settings. Staff review each appeal and the official account tells you the outcome. A decision on an appeal is final unless we say otherwise.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using Dawgcord and ask to delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the guidelines, or if we have to shut the service down.
8. No guarantees
Dawgcord is provided "as is" and "as available". It may be unavailable, change, or lose data. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. When we make an important change we will tell you in the app or by direct message. Using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
